The House Bunny is a 2008 American comedy film directed by Fred Wolf, written by the writing team of Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, and produced by Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo, Anna Faris, Allen Covert, and Heather Parry. The film stars Faris, Colin Hanks, and Emma Stone, and tells the story of a former Playboy bunny who signs up to be the "house mother" of an unpopular university sorority after finding out she must leave the Playboy Mansion. Phi Iota Mu intercepts the invitations and prevents them from being mailed out, so the Zetas are again in danger of being shut down at the campus meeting of the Panhellenic Council. Shelley crashes the meeting and gives a heartfelt speech about what her experience with the Zetas has taught her about love and acceptance and asks for pledges on the spot; gradually 30 students agree to pledge, and the sorority is saved. Oliver and Shelley reconcile, and Shelley explains that she likes Oliver a lot and was trying too hard to impress him.

The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 19, 2008.[16] It was also released in a 6-movie collection called The Laugh Out Loud Collection with other Happy Madison films in 2013. During her time with the Zetas, Shelley meets and becomes attracted to an intellectual, altruistic guy named Oliver, who works at a retirement home. She uses seductive tactics that work with other guys, but they fail because Oliver actually wants to get to know Shelley rather than just hook up with her. To impress Oliver on their second date, Shelley starts attending classes and reading books, and tones down her appearance.

They decide to start over with their relationship and Oliver is looking forward to getting to know the "real" Shelley. The Zetas then feel guilty and decide to give themselves a second makeover, this time being "Half-Shelley and Half-Themselves". They also decide to draw the pledges out at random instead of judging them for their looks and popularity. They show up at Shelley's photo shoot and ask for her to come back, to which she agrees, having changed her mind about her dream of being a centerfold.
Having gotten a makeover and lessons on how to attract guys and be popular, the Zetas throw a party, which is a huge success. Lilly, a British Zeta sister with social anxiety, says their new popularity has made them conceited and forget the true value of sisterhood. When they realize what they have become, they blame Shelley—just as she returns from her unsuccessful date. Shelley Darlingson is an aspiring Playboy Playmate living the life of luxury in the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner. The day after her 27th birthday, she awakes to find a note, seemingly from Hefner, asking her to pack up and leave.
Shelley is living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. In order to accomplish their goal, they need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men; at the same time, Shelley needs some of what the Zetas have - a sense of individuality. The combination leads all the girls to learn how to stop pretending and start being themselves.

Some of the property is still discreetly under construction, with more rooms being added, including villa vacation homes for sale. Perched on a cliff above turquoise waters, Rock House is one of the best hotels in Turks and Caicos — and it’s easy to see why.

The territory's legal system is based on English common law, with a small number of laws adopted from Jamaica and the Bahamas. Grand Turk is the administrative and political capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands and Cockburn Town has been the seat of government since 1766. Our local Turk’s Head Brewery, found in central Providenciales, offers tours and an onsite tap room, where guests can enjoy all of the local beers and specials made at the brewery.
Landscape and nature photographers will appreciate the sweeping coastal vistas and undeveloped coasts of these little islands. Another great aspect of visiting the more-remote islands and coral reefs in the Turks and Caicos is the journey out. If you spend more time on the water, you’ll be far more likely to experience an unforgettable and spontaneous wildlife encounter. It could be a pod of wild dolphins, jumping eagle rays or snorkeling with humpback whales.
Purchased in 2019 for $9,495,000, the suburban Atlanta property is anchored by a 15,000-square-foot main house with 8 bedrooms, 9 baths, and all the bells and whistles you can expect. The front of the mansion features a large white door with pillars on either side that the family loves to decorate for the season. The property has a colossal 18,000 square feet of living space spread across the main mansion as well as the detached 2,500-square-foot guesthouse. His estate was described as “a complete resort” in a previous listing and, after taking a look at it, we have to agree that it’s indeed a palatial property worthy of the moniker.
Turks and Caicos adopted the slogan “Beautiful by Nature” for good reason, as there are countless magnificent sights to behold both on our island of Providenciales, and beyond! From short kayak tours to full-day excursions to uninhabited islands, we have a variety of options certain to please. Our pre-arrival concierge will be happy to make excursion or activity arrangements prior to your arrival, and our expert team of personal concierges will be thrilled to discuss, recommend and book any excursion you wish after you’ve arrived. Amenities include a pool, pool pavilion, two apartments, a five-car garage, and plenty of features geared at horse lovers. Think a working 12-stall barn, a riding arena with a viewing deck, a hay barn, and an 1867-built farmhouse with a historic log cabin. There isn’t much tourism development on South Caicos, just the historical settlement of Cockburn Harbour, secluded beaches, and remnants of the abandoned sea salt industry.

There is also an oversized pool with a glass infinity edge that is perched on the top of a 25-ft limestone cliff, overlooking the beach while offering panoramic views. Both islands are excellent for birdwatching, and it’s common to see flamingos at one of the wetland viewing spots such as Flamingo Pond Overlook or the Pumpkin Bluff Ponds. Wellness is paramount to the resort, with an elevated 100-foot infinity pool, the largest in Turks & Caicos, which is surrounded by sophisticated day beds and parasols and offers guests a chance to unwind while overlooking the islands’ famed crystal blue waters. Additional wellness amenities include in-room massage treatments, yoga classes, and winding walking and jogging trails. Guests can rent a cabana for the day or enjoy the surrounding lounge chairs on a first-come, first-served basis. The hotel also has a small yet gorgeous private white-sand beach, in addition to complimentary snorkel gear, paddleboards, and kayaks.

Regardless of whether you stay at a resort or villa, it’s typically best to rent a vehicle when visiting the Turks and Caicos. The country doesn’t have effective public transportation, so having your own vehicle will allow you to get out to some of our amazing beaches and sights. Want to enjoy our beautiful reefs in air-conditioned comfort without getting wet? The Undersea Explorer is a semi-submarine operated by Caicos Tours, and allows passengers to ride below the water’s surface, with large observatory window to see out of. The Bight Reef (also known as Coral Gardens) is the most popular and easiest to access of the beach reefs, and is located on the western end of Grace Bay. Smith’s Reef, found near Turtle Cove, is even more extensive and complex than the Bight Reef, albeit a little harder to find.
Our room rate included breakfast at the one on-site restaurant, Vita, which also offers lunch and dinner. The open-air (but shaded) venue serves all their dishes with a side of gorgeous ocean views. My go-table was located on the far side in the corner where it felt like I was eating while floating above the water. As I sat in my pool cabana, complimentary welcome glass of Champagne in hand, overlooking the long infinity pool that seemed to disappear into the turquoise ocean behind it, an immediate sense of calm washed over me. My husband and I had checked into the Rock House resort in Turks and Caicos mere minutes before, and the staff had kindly set us up with a shady cabana while we waited for our room to be ready.
Apart from the onsite dining and bar, there are no other dining options nearby. There are no specific offerings here geared solely toward kids, and the hotel in general exudes a romantic atmosphere. That said, we encountered several families during our stay, and the pool seemed to be a particular hit with a few younger children. Many other luxury properties found in Providenciales sit along the iconic, but built-up, Grace Bay Beach.
There are so many beautiful and vibrant reefs to explore in the Turks and Caicos. Sites spread across over 80 miles (129 km) of barrier reef are regularly visited by dive boats from Providenciales. If you haven’t yet begun to scuba dive, several local dive shops offer open water and DSD courses. Just a thirty-minute ferry ride from Providenciales are the quiet islands of North Caicos and Middle Caicos.
The system is connected to the mainland by two submarine cables and an Intelsat earth station. There were three AM radio stations (one inactive) and six FM stations (no shortwave) in 1998. Exceptional coasts on other islands in the Turks and Caicos are Mudjin Harbour, Bambarra Beach, Little Ambergris Cay, the sandbars at Fort George Cay and Pine Cay, and the shallow channel and bar systems at Parrot Cay and Sandy Point Beach on North Caicos. "Rock House is the Caribbean Capri, rivaling a trip to the Mediterranean without the transcontinental trip," Durliat said. "As one of only a few Leading Hotels of the World properties in Turks & Caicos, Rock House brings a new experience to those seeking an alternative to beachfront resorts typically found in the islands." The star of the show, however, is the secluded beach – a rarity on the island. With most coastlines densely populated by tourists and locals alike, Rock House’s private beach offers privacy and serenity, while the beach concierge is on hand to arrange excursions or transport you anywhere on the island. Cave Bar – This intimate bar features the natural rock walls and creative design that make it a truly unique experience.
After sending Kerwin Vargas through in the channel, the Argentine burst forward into the box to get across the near post. He was being tracked by Miguel Navarro, who tried to take him down on top of the box off the ball. After he rode that initial challenge, Navarro intentionally swiped out his legs as Uronen played the ball to him. A VAR review led referee Natalie Simon to point to the spot for a clear penalty. Chicago Fire FC Head Coach Frank Klopas made two changes at halftime to spark his team, bringing on Polish forward Kacper Przybylko and midfielder Maren Haile-Selassie, scorer of two goals off the bench against Inter Miami last time out.

The Fire claimed the lead in the 24th minute after Jairo Torres' feed was headed down by Shaqiri, allowing Navarro to unleash a left-footed shot. The ball skidded along the turf and past a diving Kahlina for Navarro's second goal of the season and first since June 29. Przybylko secured his brace after he settled a pass from Xherdan Shaqiri and deked Charlotte FC's Christian Fuchs to create some breathing room.

From that point on, CLTFC went into protect mode to keep their lead. With that in mind, Patrick Agyemang entered for Copetti to see the game out, and the game got extremely feisty. Derrick Jones and Kamil Jozwiak both picked up yellow cards in stoppage time.

On January 17, 2008, former Fire star Frank Klopas was named Technical Director in charge of player personnel, and longtime Fire assistant Denis Hamlett was appointed manager. While the Fire struggled at home in 2008 the team found unusual success on the road, gathering 22 out of a possible 45 away points. Momentum grew with the long-anticipated signing of Chicago native Brian McBride on a free transfer in July 2008. After disposing of the Red Bulls 5–2 in the season's final game, they decisively conquered New England in the first round of the playoffs with a 3–0 victory at home. This was Chicago's first playoff advancement over the Revolution in four consecutive seasons.

Charlotte FC kept up the pressure from there, and Copetti nearly got the goal he deserved in the 65th minute. Vargas delivered an inch-perfect cross from a short corner routine, but Copetti’s header went straight at Brady. After that, the game turned quite chippy with several fouls and very few, if any, chances for either team. Offsides and foul calls dominated the rest of the first half until the very last play. Kristijan Kahlina preserved the lead with a strong top hand save on a pacy free kick from a wide area, sending CLTFC to the locker room holding a 1-0 lead.

Balbes repaired the stonework, expanded the kitchen, finished the basement, and replaced the small fountain in the central courtyard with a large swimming pool. Perhaps you recognize it from the TNT series starring Chris Pine, I am the Night, which was inspired by Tamar Hodel's daughter's memoir, One Day She'll Darken, and fictionalized the Black Dahlia case. The residence is the perfect setting for many horror and thriller cinematics because of its unique design and the scary history it holds. The Black Dahlia mystery refers to the dark and somber crime involving Elizabeth Short, a 22-year-old victim who got brutally mutilated and cruelly murdered in the year 1947. Dr. George Hodel, a physician and probably an even bigger party animal than the Sowden couple, bought the residence in 1945. When Hodel passed away, his son implied that his father was a sadist and accused him of mercilessly cutting her up and killing her in the basement of the once-innocent Sowden House.
Barnsdall Art Park
The Sowden House basement is where Dr. George Hodel is believed to have assaulted and murdered his victims, including Elizabeth Short of the Black Dahlia case. Frank Lloyd Wright was known for his complex designs, so a secret room really wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. Due to its reputation in the media, Sowden House Los Feliz has become quite a tourist spot for those who visit California. The house was also featured in the television series about the Black Dahlia murder, I Am The Night, starring Chris Pine. The home has been the subject of multiple dark and twisted claims over the years but seems to only add to the public’s growing interest in the property. Whether you’re drawn to its stunning style or its morbid backstory, this house is one you just can’t miss.
The Sandcastle House, architect Harry Gesner’s unique personal home in Malibu sells for $13.5 Million
This space was originally designed for open-air gatherings and musical or dramatic performances. Then in 2001, the property sold for $1.2 million to award-winning designer Xorin Balbes. Balbes, who claimed the house was a “wreck” when he purchased it, spent $1.6 million on renovations.
Movies and TV shows filmed at the Sowden house
The Sowden House in Los Angeles’s Los Feliz neighborhood is one of the city’s most iconic residences. Built for painter and photographer John Sowden in 1926, the 6,000 square-foot house was designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright) in a Mayan Revival Style, inspired by the monumentality of pre-Columbian architecture. Wright used concrete textile blocks that give the house a dramatic appearance and its nickname “the Jaws House,” for the way the blocks frame the entrance like a shark’s open mouth. The house also has a possible link to one of the more salacious episodes in LA history, being the one-time home of a prime suspect in the unsolved Black Dahlia murder of 1947. Through myth, transfer of ownership, renovation and redesigns, and association with the infamous Black Dahlia murder of 1947, the Sowden House is a portal not lacking in artistic and humanistic ground.
L.A. Storyhood
Wallpaper was added to the ceiling and the backs of the bookcases, and heavy wood blinds were replaced with soft draperies and Roman shades to make the space feel lighter. The firm used a mix of fabrics and wall coverings by Ralph Lauren Home from Designers Guild throughout the space. It is no secret that this mysterious house has served as the mood setter in several famous movies and TV shows. From playing Howard Hughes’ home in The Aviator (2004) to representing George Hodel’s house of terror in the TNT series, I Am the Night (2019), this Mayan-style building has played many scary roles due to its famous history. Besides serving as movie scenery, the residence is also a performance venue and backdrop for magazine and television shoots.
Wild Life: Synchronized Coral Spawning
Throughout the 5,600-square-foot space, walls of windows wrap around an interior courtyard with a swimming pool and spa surrounded by art installations. Infamous for its distinctive architecture and sordid history, L.A.'s 'Sowden House' (the actual home of 'Black Dahlia' murder suspect Dr. George Hodel) was used as a setting for the new TNT series 'I Am The Night' that debuts on January 28. Infamous for its distinctive design, the 1926-built Sowden House is rectangular in shape, with four connected wings looking in on an enclosed central courtyard.
Chris Pratt, Katherine Schwarzenegger could’ve given Craig Ellwood teardown ‘some honor,’ architect’s daughter says
At the time, he deemed the once mysterious and majestic LA home “a wreck” and invested 1.6-million dollars in its renovation. Much of the cost went to revitalizing the heavily eroded concrete blocks and converting a three-section kitchen into one much larger open space kitchen. In addition, Balbes overhauled the bathrooms and reinstalled a pool in the central courtyard along with a spa. The house, with seven bedrooms, four baths, and 5,600 square feet (520 m2), was listed on the market at $1,575,000 in 2001. Balbes, who said the house was "a wreck" when he bought it, spent $1.6 million to restore the house, though some of his alterations drew criticism from preservationists as well as Lloyd Wright's son, Eric Lloyd Wright. In addition to restoring the stonework, Balbes converted the three-room kitchen area into a large open kitchen, added new upscale bathrooms, and installed a pool and spa in the central court.
These claims were made by Hodel’s own son, Steve Hodel, who was a retired Los Angeles Police Department detective. A controversial figure (his own 14-year-old daughter once accused him of assault and incest), Hodel was known to throw sex parties in his Hollywood abode, giving way to many rumors surrounding his wild lifestyle. He was known for his eccentric behavior and interests, which reportedly included an affinity for the arts and surrealism. George Hodel had ties to people in the entertainment industry and reportedly hosted gatherings at his residence that attracted a mix of artists, writers, and socialites. The house traded hands a few more times before its most famous owner took residence here.

This notion of portal is evocative of our time and the basis for PASSAGES at the Sowden House. Constructed in 1926, the front of the building somewhat resembles the open mouth of a shark and for that reason, it is often referred to as the “Jaws House”. The 5,600 square foot house in Los Angeles featured seven bedrooms and four baths before several renovations that resulted in a spacious open kitchen, updated bathrooms and a spa with a pool in the central courtyard. A unique pattern of concrete blocks makes the distinct property stand out above the rest. Copper gates, an elaborate staircase, and an immaculate living room space are even more reason to be in awe of this house. The Sowden House underwent a major renovation when designer Xorin Balbes purchased the property for 1.2-million dollars in 2001.
Sometimes the mind seizes on an story that feels like the truth, that’s easy and blunt. Despite the Hollywood debauchery linked to the LA home, there’s a single resident who has drawn more attention to the Sowden House than any other. And the accusations pitted against this resident from his very own son paint the Sowden House as the site of one of the city’s most grisly and notorious murders. Historical preservationists likewise expressed disappointment at news of the changes.
John Sowden, an eccentric photographer and purveyor of the arts, commissioned his friend Lloyd Wright, a set designer for Paramount, to construct the Sowden House. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Lloyd Wright was the oldest son of world-renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. With Sowden’s colorful tastes, Wright was no doubt encouraged to plan the strangest LA home possible. One of Southern California’s finest examples of neo-Mayan architecture, the singular, striking residence resembles a temple but has also drawn comparisons to a cave or the gaping mouth of a great white shark.

Sowden House: The sordid history of one LA’s most famous houses.
In 1997 the property was featured in Curtis Hanson’s hit movie ‘LA Confidential,’ featuring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, and Kim Basinger. After Avenger was published, LA Times reporter Steve Lopez went through long-forgotten police transcripts related to the Dahlia's murder. Not only did he find proof that Hodel was a suspect in the murder, he also discovered that the Sowden House had been bugged by the DA's office in the months after the incest trial. When questioned by police, George responded bizarrely, stating that he had recently been “delving into the mystery of love and the universe,” and that the acts of which he was accused were “unclear, like a dream.
But a second look reveals just how much of his evidence turns wispy and vanishes under close scrutiny. Perhaps you’re unfamiliar with Elizabeth Short, or Betty, as she was sometimes called. She’s better known by the infamous moniker, The Black Dahlia, a name she was never called in life, that has obscured the very real person she was. Yet his son, Steve Hodel, published a book about his theory in 2003 entitled Black Dahlia Avenger. In 2013, he returned to his childhood home with police canines who allegedly found trace human remains in the Sowden House basement. But with legends trumping confirmed truths, public consensus agrees that this is the site of the notorious murder.
Lloyd Wright would use the Mayan-influence again when designing a short-lived wooden shell for the Hollywood Bowl. However, it was the last time any member of the Wright family would employ this unique design style. The Sowden House continues to contribute to the Wright’s lasting legacy of innovation with a place on the U.S.
Between 1945 and 1950, the property was owned by a Los Angeles physician, Dr. George Hodel. Although he was not named at the time, he was a prime suspect in the infamous Black Dahlia murder, which took place in 1947. Once through the gate, you turned immediately to your right and continued up a dark passageway, then made another right turn to the front door. It was like entering a cave with secret stone tunnels, within which only the initiated could feel comfortable.

Despite having the house built and designed for him in 1926, John Sowden only lived in the property for a few years before selling it to Ruth Rand Barnett in 1930. If the John Sowden House at 5121 Franklin Avenue in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles, California, looks a little familiar, it’s probably because it was used as the home of Howard Hughes in Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator. Also, if you’ve ever seen it before, it can be a little difficult to forget because of its unique design. As is often the case, the sordid new story only increased the house’s profile and market value.
Keep in mind that some of these airports are up to an hour away from the city centre by car, and even longer by public transport. Make sure to take the Eurostar train from Amsterdam, though — this is the high-speed option and will get you there in just under two hours, quicker than the Intercity trains. If you’re arriving at Schiphol or closer to Rotterdam, you can also take the Eurostar directly from either of those locations. Both mine and my husband's chairs were broken.

A crew member did speak to her about it but then she accused me of pushing her seat forward! The crew member gave me a death stare and told me to stop pushing the seat forward. I did not even touch her seat at all, if I did, she would know it. Her boyfriend also stood up and tried to push her seat even further past the maximum decline to no avail.

In 1950 Hodel sold Sowden House and left Los Angeles for Hawaii before moving to the Philippines. While living overseas, he started another family, having four children with a Filipino woman named Hortensia Laguda. Hodel passed away in 1990 at 91 years of age; he was never charged with the murder of the Black Dahlia. However, over the years, opinions changed, and the houses built by the Wrights using textile blocks are now much-loved famous landmarks that have been added to the US National Register of Historic Places.

“We wanted to concentrate on polished nickels and polished chromes to get that silver feel back in,” he says of the fixtures, hardware, and lighting by Kohler and Kallista. Wright employed the use of concrete blocks to create the otherworldly Mayan pyramid that crowns the LA home. While this technique may seem exotic by today’s standards, it was simply regarded as an obvious cost-cutting measure in the decadent ‘20s. Despite highly anticipating the property as his own personal entertainment hub for his Hollywood Hill artist friends, Sowden sold the property in 1930. John Sowden House, also known as the "Jaws House" or the "Franklin House", is a residence built in 1926 in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles, California. Built by Lloyd Wright, the house is noted for its use of ornamented concrete blocks and for its striking facade, resembling (depending on the viewer's points of cultural reference) either a Mayan temple or the gaping open mouth of a great white shark. Inside, the house is rectangular in plan, with four connected wings around an enclosed central courtyard.

The Sowden House underwent a major renovation when designer Xorin Balbes purchased the property for 1.2-million dollars in 2001.
At the far end of the room, Levine installed a lush purple sofa with cocktail tables, creating the perfect spot for drinks, dessert, or relaxing with a cup of coffee. For the cast and crew of TNT’s new mystery drama “I Am the Night,” filming in the John Sowden House was all too real. Nicknamed the “Jaws House” for its sharklike facade, the famous Los Angeles residence was once home to Dr. George Hodel, a well known Hollywood gynecologist in the 1940s and prime suspect in the Black Dahlia case. PASSAGES at the Sowden House engages the architecture, history, and ethos of this historically significant home through site responsive works of Los Angeles and San Diego based choreographers, vocalists, performance artists and musicians. The event is about activating the intersections of these artistic mediums in the public-spirit of the home’s current owners. Jenny Landers and Dan Goldfarb who acquired the Los Feliz home in 2017 have made it their mission to host philanthropic events in support of the arts, animals, and social causes.
In 1997 the property was featured in Curtis Hanson’s hit movie ‘LA Confidential,’ featuring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, and Kim Basinger. This included a new kitchen, covering the interior walls in metallic bronze and silver, and a swimming pool in the courtyard. In 2011, after almost a decade of hosting society parties, fashion shows, and reality TV productions, living in a bedroom where the original stage once stood, Balbes sold the 5,600-square-foot house to a man named Stephen Finkelstein for $3.85 million. In spring 2018, Dan Goldfarb, founder of founder of Canna-Pet, a CBD company for pets, acquired the property for $4.69 million. He and his his wife, Jenny Landers, use it as a venue for fundraisers and parties. John Sowden House, also known as the "Jaws House" or the "Franklin House", is a residence built in 1926 in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles, California by Lloyd Wright.

A beacon of hope for those who have felt like outsiders, Charlotte has carved a place in the world for social misfits to find solace and support. Charlotte Sands released her first new track of 2023, gracing us all with the reminder that it does get better. “Alright” strikes deep to anybody who has ever felt alone, stuck, or overwhelmed. This strong message paired with a powerhouse pop melody and soft piano moments creates a moment of hope and peace when you listen to this song.
Alright - Single
The outro reinforces the recurring theme that the narrator may never be entirely alright but acknowledges the possibility of improvement over time. The pre-chorus highlights the narrator’s inclination to trust external sources, such as their horoscope, more than themselves. They admit to feeding their ego instead of seeking help when needed.
Charlotte Sands unveils new single "Alright"
As part of the partnership, Charlotte is releasing limited edition merchandise with the JED Foundation, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the organisation. She explains, “We wrote ‘Alright’ with the hope that it can bring comfort to even just one person. The future can be daunting, especially in uncertain times, but this song is a reminder to keep moving forward. Life does go on, and things will get better.” Join Charlotte on her journey to create a brighter future for the social misfits of the world. With her music and her heart, she’s proving that anything is possible.

Charlotte Sands Captivates With New Track, "Alright'.
Whatever she does, Charlotte’s goal is to create a safe space for people to feel accepted and celebrated for their individuality and diversity. If you haven’t had the chance to hear Charlotte Sands before this performance video, then you are in for a treat! There are so many incredible songs to listen to, and that includes tracks with other artists such as MOD SUN, Sleeping With Sirens, Mokita, and Underoath. You’re known for your electric blue hair, how does fashion and style play a role in your overall artistic identity? I think my style has changed a lot but overall I like to be comfortable.
Charlotte Sands shares the new single 'Alright'
So she found a roommate in Nashville via Craigslist, stole her mum’s car, and set off on a two-day drive to Music City. Instantly recognisable by her electric blue hair, Charlotte’s current tour dates with PVRIS are listed below. She will return to the UK in May to play both legs of the Slam Dunk Festival and is also confirmed for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in Germany. More big plans for 2023 are also in the works - expect more news to be unveiled soon. The bridge takes a more reflective tone, as the narrator sings, “And every time I go back to Boston, it just feels like running away. And I sink right back to the bottom, hoping one day something will change.
Mixing the melodic rush, fiery attitude and relentless energy of pop-punk with the kind of voice and instantly irresistible hooks that powers chart-bound pop stars, Charlotte Sands bridges the space between those two worlds. The chorus delivers the powerful message that the narrator may never be completely alright, but there is hope for improvement. They acknowledge that they are drinking with their ghosts tonight, metaphorically referencing past experiences that continue to haunt them. Despite this, they still believe that things can get better in time. “Alright” is a song that speaks to the struggles of self-doubt and the search for inner peace.
I think because I listened to the demo for so long I became attached to the original production and feeling of the song and wanted to keep that original vulnerability. There are so many things we could have done or added to make it more pop or more rock but we worked really hard to maintain the feeling from the day we wrote it and make sure to not overpower the actual song and story. I get so excited when I’m able to experiment with new sounds and styles and really look forward to being able to do that more and dive deeper into my influences and inspirations. Charlotte Sands' new track “Alright” is the quintessential anthem for us misfits. Try as we may, there’s no clear remedy for feeling out of place. We can envision ourselves in a far away land, let the stars dictate our daily emotions, exude confidence hoping one day it sticks, or clasp our hands together and send a prayer to an unknown location.
Charlotte Sands Releases New Single ‘Alright’ - RockSins
As the song progresses, it evolves from a reflection on personal struggles to a universal anthem, reassuring listeners that even though they may never be completely alright, it’s going to be alright. Charlotte Sands’ emotive vocals and heartfelt delivery breathe life into the lyrics, making it a powerful and relatable track. The lyrics capture the inner turmoil and constant self-doubt that many of us experience.
You wrote “Alright” with producer Danen Reed Rector, can you tell us about your collaboration process and how you work together? He makes it so easy to be honest and never settles for the easier option or the shortcut which I respect so much. In the live arena, she has played shows with My Chemical Romance, YUNGBLUD, Ava Max, Charlie Puth, Nicky Youre and T-Pain, hit festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riot Fest and SXSW, and sold-out her own North American headline tour.
It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but once I took that initial jump the rest started falling into place and the other obstacles didn’t seem so daunting. Sands began releasing music in 2018 with her debut single Phantom Pain. Charlotte always felt like a lone wolf outside of her loving family’s home. She was desperate to fit in during middle school and high school, but aimlessly floated around on the margins of social circles. Yet, today the electric-blue-haired artist is seemingly a life raft for Gen Z-ers and beyond, who are plagued by these same feelings of angst, anxiety, and alienation. Through tireless hard work, self-reflection, and a winding journey that included stealing her mother’s car; missing a crucial flight; and taking a chance on social media, she channeled those haunting feelings into her most powerful work yet.
There is already so much pressure assigned with this industry and being confined into certain boxes and I personally want to try everything and continue to give myself the freedom to create whatever feels organic in that moment. Charlotte wrote “Alright” when she was in a very low place in life. She felt hopeless for the future, and that feeling began to isolate her.
While beverages, including alcohol, are generally not allowed, each passenger may bring one 750ml bottle of wine or champagne during embarkation. As you prepare for your Carnival cruise, keep in mind that packing efficiently and knowing what to bring can enhance your overall experience. It’s crucial to strike a balance between bringing the necessary essentials and avoiding overpacking to make your journey hassle-free. So, let’s explore the items you can bring on a Carnival cruise ship.
Non-Prescription Medications and First Aid Kit
A few protective items keep cruisers comfortable on board the ship and on land. To guard against harmful UVA and UVB rays, pack sunglasses with UV lenses, sunscreen with an SPF factor of 30 or more and a brimmed hat. They are always popular on Carnival ships, and you'll see tons of groups in color-coordinated outfits. The length of your cruise will determine the number of Elegant Nights you'll need to pack for.
Miscellaneous Items
The Lido Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a more relaxed dress code than the main dining room(s); however, please respect that the Lido Restaurant is not the pool area. Shirts, bathing suit cover-ups and footwear should be worn at all times. A passport book (valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel) is required for cruises that visit Greenland. I realize that you technically won't "pack" this, but you'll want to include this on your packing list.
The ultimate guide to Carnival Cruise Line ships and itineraries

Indeed, if you're going on a Carnival cruise, the odds are you're driving to the ship, not flying, and you're probably not paying much more than you would for a trip to a local beach town. While we don’t typically use our stroller while we are on the ship, we have found it helpful to have an umbrella stroller on the days we are in port.
However, the line's next-biggest vessel, the 4,090-passenger Carnival Venezia, measures just 135,225 tons. That's about 40% smaller than the biggest ships operated by Royal Caribbean. You may log in before your cruise using your Carnival.com account or your booking details.
Prohibited Items
Carnival adds an automatic service gratuity of $16 to $18 per person, per day to final bills, depending on the cabin category (children under the age of 2 are exempt). If you are unhappy with the service you receive, you can adjust this amount at the Guest Services desk before disembarking. Also, an 18% gratuity is added to bar bills and the cover charge of the Chef's Table. It's a fun-at-sea focus that has gone to new levels over the past two years with the debut of Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, each of which has — get this — a roller coaster on the top deck.
